A powerful storm system swept across parts of the United States this week, bringing tornadoes, strong winds, and heavy storms that left several people dead and many others injured.

Officials confirmed multiple fatalities in Michigan and Oklahoma after tornadoes and severe weather damaged homes, overturned vehicles, and knocked down power lines.

Tornado Kills Four in Michigan

Authorities said at least four people died in southern Michigan after a tornado struck areas near Union City and Cass County on Friday.

Local officials reported that three people were killed and around 12 others were injured when a tornado hit the Union Lake area near Union City. Emergency crews responded to damaged homes, fallen trees, and debris scattered across roads. (https://www.ksla.com)

Videos and eyewitness reports showed powerful winds ripping roofs from buildings and sending debris into the air as the tornado moved through the region.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer activated the state’s emergency operations center to support local response and recovery efforts.

Fatal Tornado in Oklahoma

The same storm system also hit Oklahoma, where a tornado caused additional deaths and damage.

Authorities confirmed that two people were killed in the state, including a mother and her 13-year-old daughter whose vehicle was struck by the tornado during the storm. (People.com)

Officials reported widespread damage, including downed power lines, damaged buildings, and blocked roads. Emergency crews continued search and recovery operations in affected communities.

Large Storm System Across the Midwest and Plains

Meteorologists said the deadly weather was part of a large storm system stretching from the Plains to the Midwest, affecting millions of people across several states.
